The Dean of Students works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, students, and families to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. This role is responsible for addressing student behavior, managing disciplinary concerns, and implementing proactive, data-driven strategies that promote positive student conduct, engagement, and overall well-being.

This position is covered by the HEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
:

Provide direct support to students through in-class, small group, or pull-out services that are comprehensive, data-driven, and grounded in restorative practices.

Collaborate with staff to develop and implement a holistic approach to addressing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional barriers to students' success.

Lead and facilitate PBIS and MTSS team meetings to ensure alignment of supports and interventions across the school.

Support the implementation of schoolwide positive behavior practices and procedures.
-
Assist in the design, implementation, monitoring, and adjustment of individualized student plans.

Provide teachers and staff with strategies, coaching, and professional support, including regular updates during faculty meetings.

Develop and monitor data-driven, informal behavior plans for students.

Participate in Data Team meetings and share relevant behavioral data to inform decision-making.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the district's behavior management system.
-
Gather and incorporate teacher input regarding students' behavioral and social-emotional progress toward established goals.

Communicate regularly with families, conduct parent conferences, and build strong home-school partnerships.

Provide targeted interventions to students as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal.

QUALIFICATIONS
:
-
Demonstrate understanding of trauma-informed practices.
-
Knowledge of Section 504 plans, IEP processes, and documentation.
-
Strong understanding of behavior management and de-escalation strategies.
-
SCM/Safety Care certification preferred.
-
SAP certification preferred.
-
Valid K-12 teaching certification.
