Job Description Overview The Department of Computer Sciences at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Computer Science. Responsibilities The Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science will apply excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in computer science which may include courses in Advanced Operating Systems, Operating Systems, and courses focusing on operating systems internals, scheduling algorithm, memory management and application development using C#; Engage in undergraduate and graduate advising; Develop and conduct a highly visible, program of research in the field which should include a focus high-performance computing (HPC), data compression, and I/O performance analysis; Serve on departmental, college-level and/or university wide committees. Qualifications Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field; as well as (i) Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching; and (ii) Evidence of an established research program or ability to develop one.
