JOB CLASSIFICATION:  NON-EXEMPT                

GENERAL SUMMARY

Performs work involving the use of large and small motorized equipment.  Also performs related work as needed for golf course maintenance.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mows greens, tees, fairways, aprons, roughs and approaches to greens with gang units and other areas not accessible with gang mowers; operates turf vac, fairway, rough aerafier, power rakes for sand bunkers, aerafies greens, verticut tees and greens, spike greens sod cutter, spray rigs and fertilizer spreaders; mows roughs with rotary and operates other equipment as directed.
• Adjusts fairway and rough mowers as needed to ensure quality cut.
• Maintains gasoline, oil, and other equipment fluid levels daily.
• Ensures that the equipment cooling system is always working.
• Cleans equipment daily and reports equipment problems or failures to the mechanic immediately.
• Performs basic preventive maintenance and returns equipment to designated area.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are not limited to this description, and the Golf Course Equipment Operator may perform a combination of other functions when needed.
