FieldServiceEngineer;U.S.Northeast

Provideshighlyvisiblecustomersupportthroughtheperformanceofon-siteinstallation,aswellasoverseeinganynecessarydiagnoses,troubleshooting,service,andrepairofcomplexequipmentandsystems.Checksoutandapprovesoperationalqualityofsystemequipment.Instructscustomersintheoperationandmaintenanceofthesystem.Servesascompanyliaisonwithcustomeronadministrativeandtechnicalmattersforassignedprojects.Interpretscustomers'needsandclarifiesiftheresponsibilityforproblemresolutionfallstosalespersonnel,customersupportreps,orengineers.Thisjobmayincludeanyaspectoffieldsupport,andisnotlimitedtosystemhardwareandsoftware,PCs,andnetworking/wirelessnetworking.

SPECIFICFUNCTIONS

• Supports,maintains&repairsLinearAccelerators
• Providephonesupport/remoteassistancetocustomersandtoFieldServiceTeamasrequiredtoachieveresolutionofserviceneedinatimelymanner.
• Ordersparepartsforassignedcustomersincludingreplenishingsparepartskitsforwarrantyandcontractcustomers,toensuretheycanoperatetheirVarexequipmentaccordingtotechnicalandsafetyguidelineswiththehighestlevelofsatisfaction.
• Inputdetailedrecordsofservicevisitsintocompanyinformationsystems,includingtechnicalproblems,actionstakenandpartsemployedtocorrecttheseproblems,toensureaccurateupdatedcustomermaintenanceinformationisavailabletootherVarexparties.
• Maintainup-to-datetechnicaldocumentation,inordertopermanentlykeepinformedregardingalloperatingcharacteristics,designfactors,technicalperformanceanddevelopmentsofVarexproducts.
• MaintainahighdegreeofprofessionalknowledgeandsafetyconsciousnessaccordingtoVarexguidelinesinordertoperformactivitiesunderthesafestworkingconditions.
• Assistinthedevelopmentofnewservicingtechniquesandthewritingofservicedocumentation.
• Mayprovidetrainingtootherfieldpersonnel.
• ReportbymeansofFSR's,timesheets,expensereports,etc.regularlytoensureaccuratecompanystatisticaldataoncustomer-orientedactivitiesisavailable.

SKILLS&KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledgeofandsoundprofessionalexperiencewithelectronicandelectro-mechanicalengineering,testingequipmentusedforverification,checkoutandcalibrationofelectronicequipment.
• Knowledgeofandsoundprofessionaltechnicalexperiencewithmicro-computers/PCbasedsystems
