Key Position Details:
Team of 6 ED physicians Strong support (full time hospitalist coverage, 4 general surgeons, 3 ortho, 3 OB, 2 podiatrists, 3 pediatricians, psychiatry, CRNAs etc.) 24/7 Access to system Service Lines (Mental Health, Cardiology, Neurology, Pediatrics, etc.) 9.5K visits annually 11 bed ED Experienced team of nurses Employed network of EMS Level IV Trauma Center, Stroke Ready Easy transfers to affiliated tertiary care hospital network 1.5 hours from Twin Cities metro
Epic with dragon dictation 12-hour shifts, average 12 per month, flexible scheduling Express Care Clinic is open daily and staffed by clinic physicians and APPs Hospital employed model Straight hourly rate with 1.5x holiday pay
Job Description:
- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Focuses on the immediate decision-making and action necessary to prevent death or any further disability both in the prehospital setting by directing emergency medical technicians and in the emergency department.
- Provides immediate recognition, evaluation, care, stabilization and disposition of a generally diversified population of adult and pediatric patients in response to acute illness and injury.
- Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting.
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.
Licenses/Certifications
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
- Completion of 2 years emergency medicine residency, in good standing with residency and compliance with moonlighting regulations
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
- ACLS/BLS
- ATLS or CALS
- PALS

Pay Range
Pay Range: $336,491 to $420,611 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
