EmblemHealth
EmblemHealth is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health insurers, serving more than three million people in New York City and the tristate area. For the past 80 years, EmblemHealth has been taking care of New York’s heart and soul, its people. Today, health care is more complex than ever. That’s why we remain committed to finding new ways to deliver quality care at affordable prices.
Creating Healthier Futures, Together
EmblemHealth is a health and wellness company that provides insurance plans, primary and specialty care, and wellness solutions. As one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health insurers, we serve more than three million people in the New York tristate area.
EmblemHealth started back in the 1930s, at the height of the Great Depression. Out of hard times, the idea of health insurance was born: a system that would protect everyday people from financial misfortune if they had an accident or illness. Two companies from those early days of health insurance, Group Health Incorporated (GHI) and Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York (HIP), would later merge and become EmblemHealth.
Careers
EmblemHealth’s family of companies includes ConnectiCare, one of Connecticut’s leading health plans; AdvantageCare Physicians, a primary and specialty care practice; and WellSpark, a digital wellness company. If you want to be a part of a bigger story, if you want to make a difference in people's lives and the communities around you, if you think healthcare matters to every one of us – Join us!
Make a Difference
Our mission is to create healthier futures for customers and communities. Everything we do is guided by our three core values: empower, deliver, and do it together.
To deliver on our mission we’re hiring more thinkers and doers, doctors and nurses, coders and number crunchers, communicators and customer service representatives. You don’t need to have health care experience; we’ve hired people from start-ups, consultancies and other non-profits because we believe meaningful change will come from inside & outside of the industry.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Policy Statement
We are a diverse and multicultural team. We believe that every employee voice matters and are committed to continuously taking steps to ensure we have a workplace that welcomes and celebrates our diversity in all forms. This commitment is centrally embedded in our Do it Together core value.
- We reject racism, prejudice and bigotry of all kinds and strive to recognize our unconscious biases and learn from them.
- We work to foster inclusion and equity and are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment. We believe in supporting one another as teammates as we care for each other, our members, patients, and customers.
- We are committed to aligning our workforce, at all levels, to reflect the communities we serve and we are committed to sourcing solutions and partners from our diverse communities.
Why Work With Us?
